Not Your Typical Pastor’s Wife

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I do love that running across the top on that blog. The blog is called “It’s okay to be weird!!”. I love that too because I have considered myself weird for many years. I knew it was okay but some people do not know that. It took me years to think that though. Oh, how nice it would have been to see someone say that then.

The post that I was really drawn to was the “Clean Joke of the Day” which is genuinely clean. That counts for so much these days since most jokes are anything but clean. The first post on the blog today has a visit to a Safari in Texas. The pictures of the animals are great. Most of them are animals I have never even heard of so that was pretty exciting to see.

Now there is one post that is too funny to describe but if you were a fan of Dragnet many years ago or the Johnny Carson show, this is going to hit your funny bone!! You will not be able to sit with a straight face once you see this. LOL!! The post is called The Copper Clapper Caper. Don’t fall off the chair laughing now.

For The Diehard Star Wars Fans

I love to search for good blogs and blogs that have unique things. One such blog is called “Geek Mom Mashup“. The actual reason I checked this one out was because I am a Star Wars fan. Love the movies and love the stuff they have out there. But I had never seen this particular item until I read the blog post on it.

In a post called “R2-D2 is as cold as Hoth“, we learn about an R2-D2 ice bucket with ice trays that make “Han Solo in carbonite” ice cubes! Now, is a diehard Star Wars fan going to like that? Of course they are. Not only is Star Wars featured but other things as well like Battlestar Galactica cakes. In other posts, there are handmade plush action figures, Disney robot toys and much more. I recommend this blog for all sorts of good information on products and fun things.

Are You Grateful For Things In Your Life?

I ran across this blog that actually seems to uplift people with their wonderful lists of things that the owner of the blog is grateful for each day. I have to tell you that May 7th must have truly been a good day since they have put up the list for that day and included dancing veggies. They are so cute! Where is this wonderful posting place? The blog is called “Things I’m Grateful For“.

In many of the lists, a good night’s sleep is listed right near or at the top. Boy, I would love to have that one! Many other things are mentioned like things bought at an online auction place have shown up at the door. That’s like Christmas! Dreams are discussed too. The author is willing to tell much about their life and their day. This is a wonderful, folksy blog that many will enjoy. I found it to be uplifting and funny. I just love the dancing veggies! So much fun. It made my day brighter. Hope it does the same thing for you.

Courage, Cats And Coolness

This blog belongs to a friend of mine. I know she would love for you to see it. Her blog is called “Two Ton Tilly“. She has an excellent sense of humor not always seen in blogs these days. Her point of view is quite interesting as she tells you about cops behind her, about reading in this country and about ladies of courage.

The post that draws me to this blog most is one about ladies with Courage. She talks about four people who are dealing with various problems in a way that I hope I would should a problem of that nature arise. They are courageous just as the post title implies. One lady is dealing with a child only 5 years old with a disease that is going to be fatal before she is 12 years old. How does one deal with such things. Courageously.

Another lady has fibromyalgia, meaning she is in constant pain. Another lady is dealing with cancer. She is in her 30s. And the last lady is having family problems, as in stealing all she has, killing her pets and is ill. How do these ladies deal with these problems? With courage.

I invite you to read her blog, especially the post on Courage. She has humor, seriousness, fun. She has a couple of cats. That should say it all.

Everyday Randomness Tells On UPS

The blog I am telling you about is frank and straight forward. I really love this one. Everyday Randomness has a post about UPS and their new “no left turn” rule. They go into detail concerning the rule and how it affects them. To be honest, I found the rule as silly as this blogger does. They did a follow up post after contacting UPS which is just as revealing.

In other posts, the blogger tells us about email scams which will possibly affect us all. But they are not limited to exposing the truth about corporations and other problems like the scams. They also talk about giveaways, writing projects, friends and many other topics. This blog is very interesting and informative. I recommend Everyday Randomness to everyone.

Homeschool Zoo Annex

This blog, Homeschool Zoo Annex , comes from a homeschooling Mom who seems to have it all together. I found her to be informative, giving information for other homeschoolers to find good deals on schooling materials, deals and bargains. Sounds great to me.

She has posts on a variety of subjects including a science blog that will help the kids. I will probably do a review of that blog soon too! And there is a good bit of information on auctions as well. Of course, being a SAHM, she is savvy to the type of shopping one has to do with kids. And there is a post on coin collecting. This is an all around blog that is worth the read!

So You Want To Be A Christian…Then What?

This blog, Blacksheep Speaks, went straight to the point in the title of the post..”So, you’re a Christian. Now what?“. Many new Christians will want to read this. It’s insightful. Apparently listening to Churchspeak does not do the trick. The blogger points out that many times you get all the “don’ts” and not many of the “do’s”. Some churches will give you a list of what you must give up.

What I really liked was that the blogger showed that we need to have a “Spiritual Baptism”. That brings with it a total change. At that point, you will begin to receive an understanding that you never had before. For more on this and many other subjects, take a peek at Blacksheep Speaks!

Pictures Of A Tornado Strike

I am shamelessly promoting my bro-in-law’s blog here called The (Other) End of the Internet because I like the pictures he took of the recent tornado that ripped through our county. Incidentally, he was IN the tornado so I thought that people would like to see the pictures he took of that…including the van he was in when he went riding in the air.

He also enjoys blogging about many other things in his life. I found his blog to be interesting and informative. One of my favorites on his blog is the “Separated At Birth” pictures that he collects. The latest on that subject was actually a couple of screen shots of rooms that were on the television series, Star Trek: The Next Generation. They do seem to be peculiarly similar for aliens. Others that he pictured included Ben Vereen, Luciano Pavaratti, Hillary Clinton and others. No, those didn’t match but they did have doubles.
