Cooking On The Net

I noticed that this blog has not been updated for a bit but I still wanted to mention her site because of all the great stuff on it. Have you ever heard of Dump Cake? I did when my sister ran across it some years ago. I thought it sounded sort of nasty at the time. I mean think about it. A dump cake? But I tried it and it is absolutely delicious. I cannot tell you how many calories you can pile on with this amazing item. :) (I would have put an evil grin there but I simply cannot find the icon!) The great thing about this recipe is that she gives you pictures of what’s in it and how to do it. I love that. Sometimes, it’s much better to see what’s going on than to read it and try to figure out what they mean.

That particular recipe and so many more are on a blog called Jenn Cooks. I truly love some of the things she has put up on there. She had been running a contest for the Pampered Chef. I am really sorry I missed that. She also found what I believe to be a wonderful snack item, Strawberry Milkshake Creme Oreos!! And peanut butter and pickle sandwiches!! The variety is there. You can find so many good things if you will go visit her blog. Go on now. Go see for yourself!!

Coffee And Blogging, The Right Way To Go

I am actually not as into coffee as my husband is so this post is going to be more in the area of reviewing the blog and the post on it. Tinfoil Chef is a relatively new blog that is showing “how to” posts for those of us who cannot get a clue about cooking or mixing things together. In the most recent post, Chocolate Mint Coffee, which sounds delicious no matter who you are, he gives a very simple recipe for putting coffee and chocolate and mint together in a most pleasing way.

It is obvious, however, that he is not limited to coffee in the things posted on this blog. He tells us in the title that he is giving us the 411 about cooking and food. I, for one, could use it. A Basic Roux help is awesome since lots of people have no idea what a roux is. For first time cooking, this is a great way to get started.

Beyond those tips, the blog has ideas on how to use a knife safely, gives tips on the latest appliances for the kitchen, tips on eating out, food prep and storage and so much more that you will simply have to visit Tinfoil Chef to get a better idea of what is there.

And by the way, yes, I am shamelessly promoting my husband’s blog!!! So sue me. Ah well, don’t actually SUE me, just enjoy the blog!

This is my Technorati Profile.
